Professional qualification: Territorial Tourism Development Manager (TP)

The territorial tourism development manager federates and supports the players in tourism or linked to the sector, in order to increase the quality of the welcome and the attractiveness of the area, optimise the number of visitors, the resources induced and enhance the assets of the area within the framework of sustainable development.

The holder of this professional qualification is able to:

• identify the partners likely to take part in a tourism initiative and solicit their support
• participate in the programming of the phases of the project or event and coordinate the teams of employees and volunteers involved
• contribute to the administrative management of the project in compliance with the mandatory rules and deadlines
• contribute to the implementation of the communication plan multimedia
• carry out regular marketing monitoring and help operators to create or improve tourism offers by identifying the strengths and weaknesses of services and the expectations of target customers
• advise operators on how to draw up a management forecast for a project
• recommend actions to ensure or improve the profitability of a project, helping to put together an application for funding and preparing the accounts required for an action's balance sheet
• assisting in the preparation of applications for certification or classification and in the use of questionnaires in French and English

The territorial tourism development manager works with numerous institutional and professional partners whose operating methods and objectives may differ. He/she works with a view to joint success and facilitates mutual understanding between partners.

In carrying out their activities, Territorial Tourism Development Managers use English at level B2 of the European Framework of Reference for Languages.

BC01 - Implement sustainable tourism projects in an area

• Manage a tourism development project or an event with a network of partners
• Manage teams of employees and volunteers in an area
• Manage, monitoring and presenting tourism development dossiers

BC02 - Supporting the marketing development of an area

• Performing an area diagnosis and a tourism market study
• Supporting operators in the creation, the organisation and multi-channel marketing of tourism offers
• Promote an area and its tourism offers in French and English

BC03 - Ensuring the financial feasibility of a tourism initiative

• Evaluating the feasibility and economic development of a tourism structure or initiative
• Assisting local players in putting together a financial dossier and seeking funding

BC04 - Contribute to the development of a quality approach to tourism reception

• Accompany the development of the quality and reputation of the region and its tourism service providers for French- and English-speaking customers
• Accompany tourism operators in obtaining and implementing a label or classification
