Defining the advantages and limitations of tools according to individual needs

Fostering learner engagement and activity


Interactivity as a pedagogical methodology in training can vary according to the specific training objectives but offer many advantages over traditional learning methods.

We would highlight increased learner engagement, learning put into practice with the opportunity to develop concrete skills, collaboration between learners, immediate feedback on progress made, adaptation to the needs and skill level of each learner and, finally, the possibility of taking advantage of technological advances to offer more immersive learning experiences.

Although interactive training has many advantages, it can also have certain limitations.

We will mention here the sometimes difficult access to technological resources for some learners, the cost to the organisation of developing these tools, the human requirements in terms of technical skills (trainers and learners), the lack of direct human interaction, the difficulties in maintaining attention and finally a possible lack of individualisation.

It is important to take these issues into account when designing and implementing interactive training courses, and to assess their relevance in relation to learning objectives, the target audience and environmental constraints.

  • Session 2 (3 hrs): the advantages and limitations of interactive tools, adapting to needs, applying certain
  • Session 3 (2 hrs): engaging learners in activities with interactive tools, creating a video on nearpod

Positioning: prior to the course, questionnaire on active teaching practices, trainer posture, expectations of the course.

Transmission of the positioning via the LMS platform used during the training.

Formative assessments: situational exercises, quizzes, production of deliverables.

Summative assessment: an educational assessment.
