Validation of synoptic skills

This ALCOTRA project was created with the aim of strengthening cross-border cooperation and supporting the socio-economic development of mountain areas. It aims to create a cross-border tool for mapping and highlighting skills. Its ambition is to promote a common work culture based on mutual recognition of workers' skills and experience.

A cross-border project to promote the socio-economic development of mountain areas
\"\"

Thanks to collaboration between training bodies and institutions in both countries - with CAA - Consortium for Business and Professional Updating as lead partner, IIS Luigi Des Ambrois in Italy and GRETA Alpes Provence in France - VA.COM.SI. proposes to create a method for comparing the technical and cross-disciplinary skills required by traditional and emerging professions in the mountain economy.

The ultimate aim is to foster the integration of local labour markets, promote employability and consolidate innovative and replicable cross-border governance, in line with European lifelong learning and professional mobility strategies.
GRETA-CFA Alpes Provence is committed to
\"\"
As part of this project, GRETA CFA Alpes Provence is contributing its expertise and skills through a multidisciplinary team. Focused on continuing education for adults, our organisation is working with ALCOTRA on the project VA.COM.SI project, developed on both sides of the border, i.e. in the 04/05 departments and the Italian Piedmont. The aim of the latter is to develop a common tool for recognising and validating workers' skills.
To this end, an ethnographic study will be conducted based on professional didactics. Our research will be presented in the form of a cartographic atlas using topographical maps to illustrate the lives and professional realities of transalpine workers. The aim will be to showcase all mountain-related professions and their economic and social impact on different territories, and to propose possible cross-border collaborations. This work aims to promote the movement of workers on both sides of the border and thus contribute to professional integration.
Mutual recognition of skills
\"\"

A key element of the project is the mutual recognition of skills in formal and informal contexts, jointly listed by Italy and France. A field-based approach (from professional experience to skills profile) is particularly important here.

This recognition will be achieved through a standardisation process, with the participation of the responsible bodies, ensuring fair and transparent assessment of competences in both countries.

The creation of a common system for the validation and certification of skills will encourage worker mobility and cross-border cooperation, enabling people to develop their skills with the greatest possible administrative fluidity, thus facilitating the movement of workers and promoting better integration of local labour markets.
Planned activities
\"\"

- analysis of needs and development of a shared model

- experimentation on real cases

- creation of digital tools for consulting and applying the results;

- involvement of certification bodies and companies to ensure mutual recognition of skills.
