The Erasmus+ project NEGHTRA (Next Generation Training on Intelligent Greenhouses)is a training project that focuses on the transfer of knowledge in the field of precision agriculture, based on specific needs and challenges identified from a comprehensive needs analysis.
NEGHTRA aims to provide innovative training on smart greenhouse technologies as well as optimal technology/crop solutions depending on the region, taking into account economic and environmental sustainability conditions.
NEGHTRA's aim is to develop an adaptable and flexible lifelong learning system, ensuring high quality and effective education. It aims to provide farmers with knowledge on how innovation, entrepreneurship and the use of technology can benefit their businesses as well as their personal development and skills development.
The target groups are:
The training material is being developed by a comprehensive consortium of 5 higher education institutions, 4 specialist SMEs and 7 intermediaries, each contributing their collective expertise and dissemination capacity, in seven languages.
The training material is being accessed and disseminated using virtual reality tools, educational videos, e-learning platforms, best practice guides, etc.

The project aims to contribute to the modernisation of greenhouse operations for greater cultivation efficiency and increased economic potential in the face of changing market conditions and environmental challenges. It will thus facilitate the adoption of innovation by existing and future European farmers.
