The job requires very good mental and physical conditions and the ability to be mobile. Welders work both in the workshop and on site, generally standing up, sometimes in difficult positions or using uncomfortable or even painful postures. Added to these conditions are the dangers associated with the environment, working at height or in excavations. They may have to travel a lot, and depending on how the company is organised, they may work regular day shifts or 2 x 8 or even 3 x 8 shifts. Applicants will therefore be offered specific entry tests (to check their physical and visual abilities).
