from 18 Nov 2024 to 20 June 2025

The level 3 TIG and COATED ELECTRICAL WELDER vocational qualification is involved in the production of unitary and/or small series, boilerwork and pipework assemblies for various sectors of activity involving metalwork in pipework and/or industrial boilerwork.

The aims of the course are:

  • To master the process of assembling pipes and pipe fittings by welding using the Coated Electrode Arc (CEA) and Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) processes, in compliance with defined instructions and quality criteria
  • To acquire the skills associated with the different types of welding: Flat welding with the coated electrode arc and Tungsten Inert Gas processes of pipe assemblies / Welding in all positions with the coated electrode arc and Tungsten Inert Gas processes of pipe assemblies
  • Obtain the GIES 1 Certificate

Integration period: welcome, presentation of training objectives, getting to know the professional environment.

The STEE professional qualification consists of two standard activities. Each activity type corresponds to a certificate of professional competence (CCP):

CCP - Flat welding using the coated arc and Tungsten Inert Gas processes on pipe assemblies

  • Rotary welding on pipe using the TIG welding process
  • Rotary welding on pipe using the coated arc welding process

CCP - Welding in all positions using the TIG welding process. All-position welding of pipe assemblies using the Shielded Metal Arc and Tungsten Inert Gas processes

  • All-position welding of pipe using the TIG process
  • All-position welding of pipe assemblies using the Shielded Metal Arc and Tungsten Inert Gas processes

    • All-position welding of pipe assemblies using the TIG process
    • All-position welding of pipe assemblies using the TIG process with the Shielded Arc Welding process
    • Determining the variables of a welding operation on a pipe assembly

Awareness of sustainable development takes place throughout the training course: implement and comply with individual and collective safety rules and regulations relating to electrical hazards and working at heights and in traffic, ensure waste sorting and traceability.

  • Professional qualification from the Ministry of Labour Level 3 (CAP)

The job requires very good mental and physical conditions and the ability to be mobile. Welders work both in the workshop and on site, generally standing up, sometimes in difficult positions or using uncomfortable or even painful postures. Added to these conditions are the dangers associated with the environment, working at height or in excavations. They may have to travel a lot, and depending on how the company is organised, they may work regular day shifts or 2 x 8 or even 3 x 8 shifts. Applicants will therefore be offered specific entry tests (to check their physical and visual abilities).
