Vocational Qualification as Wood and Derivative Joiner

The joiner manufacturing wood and derivatives works on a sedentary basis. They carry out mass production machining by removing material (wood or composite), on conventional or digital machine tools, using manufacturing files and complying with safety rules. They make adjustments and carry out first-level preventive maintenance on their production tools. Using machine tools, you will mass-produce skirting boards, panelling, shelves, boxes, etc. They check them and pack them for storage. Working on their own or as part of a team, they cut, machine and profile joinery components: furniture, frames, doors, windows, etc., using different materials: wood, wood derivatives and associated materials. They assemble parts, position hardware, install glass on joinery, assemble and inspect joinery.

• CCP 1. Manufacture works in solid wood or derived panels -  Safely use stationary machine tools dedicated to wood joinery -  Prepare and follow a manufacturing process for joinery works -  Cut, corrode and size solid wood on stationary machines - Cut and size derived panels on stationary machines - Machine solid wood parts or derived panels on stationary machines
• CCP 2.Assembling and storing solid wood or derived timber products - Safely using portable machine tools dedicated to wood joinery - Joining solid wood or derived timber products - Gluing and sizing laminated panels, thick or thin edges on derived timber products - Equipping solid wood or derived timber products - Assembling and storing joinery products

A sustainable development awareness is carried out throughout the course: optimising materials by limiting falls, sorting waste, working safely to limit the risk of accidents
