 Assistant Accountant Professional Qualification

At the end of the course, the professional will be able to carry out all the basic tasks involved in the company's accounting information:

- collect, check and record all the commercial, social and tax documents needed to keep the accounts in compliance with regulations and the chart of accounts.

- check, justify and rectify the accounts for all current operations.

- collect the elements required to calculate the payroll each month, ensure that they are taken into account when drawing up pay slips and prepare the employee's administrative documents.

- draw up the VAT return and carry out the digital return, present a management chart according to the needs of the decision-maker.

- prepare the elements required to draw up the annual summary documents (income statement and balance sheet and determine the regularisations at the end of the accounting period and the annual closing operations.

- master and use a digital and dematerialised environment and use dedicated applications offered by integrated commercial and accounting management software.

- follow regulatory developments and carry out regular accounting monitoring.


The course is organised into several skill modules, allowing for step-by-step progression. It alternates between theoretical input, practical exercises and assessment sessions to promote practical and progressive learning.

BC01 - Carrying out day-to-day accounting tasks

  • Process stock, trade receivables and trade payables
  • Process loans and the allocation of profits

Throughout the programme, learners receive personalised support with regular monitoring by the teaching team and progress reviews to tailor the learning to each individual’s needs.

A work placement also enables participants to develop professional skills in a real-world setting.

Skills are assessed progressively through role-plays, practical exercises, professional assignments and assessments carried out throughout the course.

Total maximum duration of 750 hours, including 210 hours in a company and 540 hours at the training centre.

For this professional qualification, ongoing assessments (ECF) are organised throughout the course to evaluate the candidate’s progress and their mastery of professional skills.

The final examination takes place before a two-member examination panel comprising professionals from the sector. It comprises a professional role-play and an interview based on the professional portfolio (DP), which highlights the experience and skills developed by the candidate.

The final examination takes place within two months of the end of the training course.

The examination panel validates all or part of the Professional Qualification. In the event of partial validation, the professional competence certificates (CCP) (or competence modules) obtained are valid for a period of five years.

The candidate may subsequently complete the missing modules to obtain the Professional Qualification in its entirety.

In a small company, the sole accountant is in charge of all work under the authority of the head of the company and usually the supervision of a chartered accountancy firm.
