The Advanced Maintenance Technician is a middle manager in industrial maintenance, occupying a position between a senior technician and an engineer. 

Their area of expertise is the maintenance and improvement of production equipment (safety, availability, reliability, maintainability) in line with the factory of the future and emerging technologies.

With the aim of improving the company’s performance, their role is to help develop the company’s maintenance and continuous improvement policy, to provide technical and methodological expertise, to integrate digital factory tools, and to contribute to the company’s quality, safety and environment.

Upon completion of the training, the Advanced Maintenance Technician will be able to:

• Organise the monitoring and tracking of equipment on a production line or in a production cell
• Oversee the implementation of maintenance methods or solutions
• Manage communication regarding the maintenance of equipment on a production line or in a production cell
• Chair a working meeting or a follow-up meeting on the maintenance of equipment on a production line or in a production cell
• Ensure traceability and report on maintenance activities for equipment on a production line or in a production cell to line management

The training course is organised into several skill modules, enabling step-by-step progression. It alternates between theoretical input, practical exercises and assessment sessions to promote practical and progressive learning.

BC01 - Organisation of the monitoring and tracking of equipment on a production line or in a production cell

Measuring and analysing the technical parameters and/or performance indicators of equipment on a production line or in a production cell with a view to operational safety (safety, availability, reliability, maintainability)

Assess the risks and impacts associated with deviations in the equipment of a production line or cell (quality, safety, productivity, environment)

Diagnose the cause(s) of a deviation or malfunction in the equipment on a production line or in a production cell

Define technical methods or solutions to improve maintenance in the following areas: safety, availability, reliability, maintainability

BC02 – Overseeing the implementation of maintenance methods or solutions

Coordinate actions to maintain equipment on a production line or cell in operational condition or to improve it, in conjunction with the maintenance department

Monitor the cost-effectiveness of maintenance activities for equipment on a production line or in a production cell

BC03 - Managing communication regarding the maintenance of equipment on a production line or in a production cell

Chair a working meeting or a follow-up meeting on the maintenance of equipment on a production line or in a production cell

Ensure traceability and report on the maintenance activities of equipment on a production line or in a production cell to management

Throughout the course, learners receive personalised support with regular monitoring by the teaching team and progress reviews to tailor the learning to each individual’s needs.

Skills are assessed progressively through role-plays, practical exercises, professional projects and assessments carried out throughout the course.

Our teaching methodology prioritises a practical, work-focused approach: case studies, role-plays, role-playing exercises and collaborative activities enable learning in conditions that closely resemble the real-world workplace.

• Certification issued by the UIMM - Union des Industries et des Métiers de la Métallurgie (Union of Metallurgy Industries and Trades) Level 6

The technician specialising in advanced maintenance works in industrial companies in all sectors of activity producing goods or services, whatever the size of the company and the manufacturing processes (production lines, transformation processes, assembly/assembly, packaging, etc.).

He may work in the maintenance department of an industrial company, in a maintenance service provider company and also in the after-sales departments of manufacturers of production equipment.
