from 1 Sep 2025 to 15 May 2026

General installation engineering designers are essential for designing and carrying out the necessary modifications (mechanical, electrical or civil engineering) for projects to create new infrastructures and modernise existing industrial sites. The needs expressed are therefore numerous and at the interface of several sectors (nuclear, petrochemical, naval, etc.).

The design engineer draws up plans and digital mock-ups on specific software with the aim of producing documentation enabling the work to be carried out. Projects may require external interventions on sites in order to collect data useful for the study, including 3D dimensional surveys.

BC01 - Manage an industrial general installation engineering project

Organise your activity within a team, in order to ensure the smooth running of the project

Formulate well-argued proposals to the project's internal and external players

Apply quality and safety procedures throughout the project

Define and adopt a work organisation incorporating suitable tools

Coordinate his/her intervention with that of the other members of the project team

Respect coding rules by applying the project's quality procedure

Manage the life cycle of project data, using document management tools and processes

BC02 - Carry out a survey

Decode a layout plan from the specifications, in order to find your way around the industrial site by identifying its various buildings and production facilities

Decode installation documents from the specifications

Prepare your on-site survey by planning your trip

Carry out an on-site survey, to ensure the conformity of the plans and to complete the input data by carrying out a measurement and taking photographs in compliance with safety and security rules

Conduct a survey in a digital twin

Identify the material and environmental integration constraints of the future industrial modification

Integrate the dimensional readings taken on site into a 3D digital model or a 2D plan

Write a survey report

BC03 - Conduct a design study for a new industrial installation

. Carry out a design study of a technical solution

Identify all the integration constraints, particularly in terms of the kinematics for routing equipment and components in the existing environment

Search for technical solutions, in order to meet the functional requirement and an economic optimum, in compliance with the specifications and the General Installation Rules

Select the main general installation materials and equipment from a technical library, in order to meet the requirements of the specifications

Predimension a technical solution, in order to confirm the project team's data using simple abacuses and calculation tools

Represent the basic design of the technical solution, by producing the 2D plan and/or the 3D model

BC04 - Produce a design study

Integrate prefabrication and routing constraints

Produce a 3D CAD model in order to validate the design study in its overall environment

Produce a link of 2D plans in accordance with the 3D CAD model

Manage the design study data, respecting traceability
