The Diplôme de compétence en langue (DCL) is a national vocational diploma created specifically for adults. It meets the needs of the business world. What makes it original is that it assesses language skills in a situation that is close to the reality of the workplace. Depending on their performance, candidates are awarded the diploma with a reference to one of the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
.The DCL validates five areas of competence in the language of everyday and professional communication:
Reading comprehension
Speaking comprehension
Speaking expression
Written expression oral interaction
At the end of the test, the jury assigns the successful candidates, on the basis of their performance, one of the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: from A2-C1 for the DCL FLE
The DCL certifies skills acquired in the language of everyday and professional communication common to all sectors of economic activity. The test takes the form of a case study involving a series of varied tasks, as in professional life.
