Mechanical machining: Further training in conventional milling

• To enable participants to perfect their skills and knowledge in milling, both in practice and in theory,
• To select the appropriate tooling in relation to the machining to be carried out,
• To adjust the parameters (cutting speed, rotation, feed) of milling machines.

Public concerned : Staff in the maintenance or manufacturing department, with little experience or who have had distant basic training, who need to operate a conventional milling machine.

THEORY

• Knowledge of conventional milling machines and their settings; Safety rules; Depending on the metal to be machined and the surface finishes to be obtained: Choice of tools, inserts; Calculation of cutting speeds (speed of rotation); Calculation of feeds; Trigonometric reminder of angles and dimensions; Work methodology, picking up workpieces

PRATICS

• Practical exercises of increasing complexity within dimensional, shape and position tolerances: Surfacing, Grooving, Dovetails, Interlocking, Assembly, Drilling
• Dimensional control of parts produced

Alternation between theory and practice; course document given to trainees

Individual progression is defined according to each trainee's experience, level of knowledge and machining work carried out in the company,

A conventional milling machine is made available to each trainee
