BC01 - Collecting data and analysing information
Assuring active monitoring via online research, press conferences, media, agencies (AFP, Reuters), newsletters, while limiting the ecological impact (encouraging on-screen reading).
Participate in institutional press conferences (ministries, town halls, companies, etc.), integrate their press files, develop a network of informants to obtain exclusive data.
Check the reliability of information by cross-referencing sources and relying on facts to avoid rumours and fake news.
BC02 - Prepare a journalistic subject for all media
Determine a relevant angle in line with the editorial line and the context (social, political, geographical...) to adapt the treatment of the information to the target.
Choose an appropriate format (report, interview, podcast, post, etc.), depending on the medium (press, TV, web, social networks).
Argument your subject to the editorial team by providing evidence and context. Draw up a plan of attack (syllabus), select speakers and venues while reducing superfluous communications.
Obtain the necessary accreditations (emails, calls, letters), respecting legal rules.
BC03 - Create your journalistic subject
Gather information in the field or remotely, multiply sources, note down useful details, identify essential journeys, limit the carbon footprint (public transport, car-pooling).
Perform interviews by bouncing off answers, adapting the setting to the interviewee, taking disabilities into account.
Sorting and analysing data according to media requirements.
Construct the subject in the chosen genre, prioritise the information, separate facts and comments, respect writing techniques: popularise, be precise, concise and attractive, for a clear, relevant and timely publication.
