  • Understand and improve your knowledge of industrial electricity through theoretical contributions and numerous hands-on exercises,
  • Acquire the basic concepts of reading diagrams,
  • Know and identify the various components in order to install or replace them.

Public concerned: Maintenance and service personnel who have to work on electrical installations.


Electrical engineering reminders

Fundamental laws: Current, voltage, resistance; Ohm's law, Power, energy, Joule's law

Alternating current: Frequency, maximum, average and rms values

Use of different measuring devices: Ammeter, voltmeter, ohmmeter connections; Universal controller

Three-phase currents: Production, distribution, simple and compound values

Technology and power elements

The transformer: Principle, constitution; Different types, uses.

The three-phase asynchronous motor: Constitution, operating principle; Coupling to the network, controls.

Single-phase and direct current motors: Asynchronous, universal and permanent magnet

Various sensors: Position, proximity, passage; Threshold (level, temperature, rotation)

Receiver control circuits (practical work)

Technological study of components: Switch, changeover switch, remote switch; Disconnector, contactor, thermal relay; Auxiliary, timed relay.

Operational study, wiring, introduction to troubleshooting: Standardised symbols; Schematics and wiring of motor control circuits and small automatic systems; Circuit protection; Fuses, circuit breakers, motor circuit breakers; Earthing, differential circuit breakers, lightning arresters; Neutral systems; Safety; Electrical hazards, Lockout/tagout

Alternating theory and practical exercises; Hands-on work with a variety of equipment
