The aim of this course is to enable a cinema exhibition professional to transform any images taken during the video recording of an event into DCP or another digital format accessible to the general public.
It also offers an approach to the notions of simple editing with titling as well as an introduction to the process of burning and duplication in a format accessible to the general public and broadcastable on a large cinema screen.

Presentation of the equipment needed for editing
- digital software, players, burners
Use of editing, mixing and burning software.
-Modes of use and operation, getting started and learning how to use commands
-Practical exercises: editing films in cut using different methods and depending on the soundtrack, creating credits, etc.
Learning how to name a DCP
- recognition of the acronyms used according to the naming standards in force, compliance with the standardisation convention for a DCP, decrypting the title of a DCP
The different forms of compression that can be used
Transforming edited film into DCP
- operating procedure for transforming files into DCP, checking compatibility, saving to hard disk, etc...
The final day of the course will be devoted to putting the theoretical and practical aspects of the course into practice: making a simple edit with titles and credits, transforming the edit into a DCP, burning to DVD or hard disk.
