The automotive diagnostics technician is a real investigator. Their job is to troubleshoot and repair vehicle malfunctions. He/she carries out maintenance and checks and diagnoses malfunctions on vehicles weighing less than 3.5 tonnes and also regularly takes part in the interventions and repairs he/she has recommended.
The main aims of the training are to give the technician sufficient mastery of automotive diagnostics to fit in professionally.

After an integration period, the training consists of 7 modules
Module 1 - Reminder of the professional context of automotive diagnostics. Identify the legal obligations of the profession - Identify the main health and safety obligations and rules. Identifying and using measuring equipment specific to the automotive professions
Module 2 - Using the diagnostic tool. Use the diagnostic tool to work on a vehicle. Updating the diagnostic tool
Module 3 - Diagnosing and remedying electrical system malfunctions. Diagnose and intervene on an electrical circuit in complete safety
Module 4- Diagnose and remedy malfunctions in mechanical systems.
Module 5 - Diagnosing and remedying malfunctions in injection systems and engine management
Module 6 - Handling refrigerants Regulatory requirements for on-board air conditioning. Providing a category V air conditioning service. Passing the category V aptitude certificate.
Module 7 - B1VL-B2VL automotive electrical authorisation for electricians and works supervisors. Refrigerant test and electrical approvals
A knowledge assessment is carried out at the end of each module.
Have a B driving licence. Have a good basic knowledge of car mechanics or a CAP (vocational training certificate) in car mechanics or equivalent certification
