Acquire the necessary qualification to develop the following professional skills:
1. Establish appropriate communication to inform and support the patient and those around them
2. Accompany the patient in settling in and moving around by mobilising his/her resources and using appropriate equipment
3. Implement hygiene and comfort care adapted to the patient's needs and situation
4. Assess the patient's clinical condition within his/her area of expertise
5. Implement care appropriate to the patient's condition, particularly those relating to emergencies
6. Prepare, check and maintain the vehicle suitable for land medical transport in order to ensure safe transport
7. Drive the vehicle adapted for land medical transport in compliance with traffic and road safety rules and in a manner appropriate to the patient's state of health
8. Use appropriate equipment and facility maintenance techniques, within his/her area of competence, taking into account the prevention of associated risks
9. Identify, report and deal with anomalies and malfunctions in connection with the maintenance of the vehicle, equipment and facilities and ensure traceability
10. Searching for, processing and passing on relevant information to ensure the continuity and traceability of care and activities and passing on professional know-how
11. Organising and controlling one's activity, cooperating within a multi-professional team and improving one's practice as part of a quality / risk management approach
The training is made up of five blocks of skills:
BLOC 1: Caring for patients of all ages as part of their duties (175h)
BLOC 2: Collecting clinical data and implementing care adapted to the patient's condition (210h)
BLOC 3: Transporting the patient in compliance with traffic and road safety rules (28h)
BLOC 4: Maintenance of the equipment and facilities of the land medical vehicle, taking account of intervention situations (35h)
BLOCK 5: Teamwork and processing of information related to transport activities, quality / risk management (105h)The training also includes 245h of work experience (i.e. 7 weeks).

- a valid B driving licence (excluding the probationary period), in accordance with current legislation;
- a prefectoral certificate of fitness to drive an ambulance after medical examination, a medical certificate of no contraindications to the exercise of the profession of ambulance driver issued by an approved doctor, a medical certificate of vaccinations in accordance with the regulations in force setting the conditions for immunisation of health professionals in France
AND have passed the admissibility test on file and the oral admission interview-
To attend the admission interview, candidates must complete an observation period of 70 hours in a hospital department responsible for medical transport or in a medical transport company approved by the institute director in accordance with article 19 of this decree - have submitted the application file

Following the order of 11 April 2022 concerning the DEA, the number of hours is 556 hours in the centre and 245 hours in the company.
