To acquire the necessary qualifications to carry out:

  • Technical tasks:

All preventative and corrective vehicle maintenance tasks, covering:

- Internal combustion engines and peripheral equipment,

- Mechanical assemblies,

- Electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic and optical systems ensuring the vehicle’s drivability, comfort and safety.

Fitting accessories to vehicles.

The maintenance operations mentioned above require a thorough understanding of procedures and the ability to identify approaches relating to:

- Carrying out diagnostics,

- Carrying out checks, adjustments and tests.

They also require the ability to interpret physical parameters, as well as proficiency in the use of equipment and diagnostic and testing methods, including remote methods.

  • Organisation and management of maintenance:

Organisation of maintenance:

In liaison with the manufacturer’s and/or equipment supplier’s departments: receiving and transmitting technical information,

Updating and filing technical documentation,

Planning maintenance work,

Organising and maintaining the workstation and tools,

Applying the quality procedures in force within the company.

Maintenance management:

Providing technical and operational advice to customers,

Drawing up all relevant workshop documentation,

Preparing quotations, work orders, etc.,

Occasional involvement, acting as a stand-in for the receptionist, in customer reception and vehicle handover procedures.

Technical training role:

Delivering technical training sessions for after-sales service staff,

Helping to draw up the company’s training plan / mentoring young people on work-study schemes,

Providing technical support to after-sales service staff.

  • Key responsibilities:

Identifying preventive maintenance processes,

Maintaining and repairing components and equipment,

Work on electric and specialised vehicles or on any gas systems or equipment requiring authorisation or a certificate of competence (e.g. speed limiter),

Work on comfort and convenience systems and on the electronic and hydraulic systems of vehicle-related devices (doors, ticketing, communication tools, etc.): buses and coaches.


The course is organised into several skill modules, allowing for step-by-step progression. It alternates between theoretical input, practical application and assessment sessions to encourage hands-on, progressive learning.

BC01 – Diagnosis and maintenance of components, equipment and accessories for commercial and industrial vehicles

BC02 - Diagnosis and restoration to compliance of injection and emission control systems in commercial and industrial vehicles (including all gas systems)

BC03 - Diagnosis and restoration to compliance of electrical and multiplexed circuits in commercial and industrial vehicles

BC04 - Diagnosis and maintenance of mechanical systems in commercial and industrial vehicles

BC05 - Diagnosis and restoration to compliance of powertrain components in electric or hybrid commercial and industrial vehicles

BC06 - Customer advice and reception for commercial and industrial vehicles

BC07 - Transfer of technical expertise and knowledge

Throughout the course, learners receive personalised support with regular monitoring by the teaching team and progress reviews to tailor the learning to each individual’s needs.

Skills are assessed progressively through role-plays, practical exercises, professional projects and assessments carried out throughout the course.

Our teaching methodology prioritises a practical, industry-focused approach: case studies, role-plays, practical scenarios and collaborative activities enable learning in conditions that closely mirror the real-world workplace.

Technological or vocational A-level qualification, preferably the Vocational A-level in Motor Vehicle Maintenance – option VI or VP

Or significant experience in the field

To be accepted onto the training programme, candidates must pass aptitude and motivation tests.

Formative assessments are organised throughout the course to evaluate the candidate’s progress and their mastery of professional skills. 

Examinations take place at the end of the course (final assessment) based on a professional portfolio and an interview with a panel of industry experts.
