The aim is to acquire the following professional skills:
-Perform a simple calculation by hand or with a calculator / Count, enumerate / Compare, classify, sort / Evaluate an order of magnitude / Use elementary mental arithmetic techniques / Check the consistency of the results obtained / Perform a simple proportional calculation.
Discovering numbers
- Whole numbers: reading and writing
- Writing whole numbers: spelling rules
- Decimal numbers: reading and writing, ordering and comparing
- Relative numbers: discovering them to order and classify
- Counting through logical tests
Mastering the operating technique
- The 4 operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division
- Use orders of magnitude to ensure consistency of results
Calculate easily, quickly
- Mental calculation
- Multiply, dividing by 10, 100, 1000
- Rounding a number
Familiarising yourself with proportionality
- Notions of fractions
- Proportionality situations
- Notions of proportionalities : learning resources.
Assessment criteria
- The result of a simple calculation carried out by hand or with a calculator is exact.
- Among a set of objects of varying nature and quantity, the exact number of objects in each category is determined.
- A list of numbers, arranged in ascending order is exact.
- Examples of order of magnitude are understood and explained.
- Elementary mental arithmetic techniques are used to perform simple operations correctly.
- The value of the result obtained is logical in relation to the calculation, the initial data and the context. The consistency of the results obtained is checked.
- Proportionality (proportional magnitude, proportionality coefficient) is understood and applied in the context of a simple calculation.
