The aim is to acquire the following professional skills:
-Use units of time / Fill in timetables correctly / Read and understand a work schedule / Use units of measurement as well as measuring instruments / Use and understand tables, diagrams, graphs / Identify errors / Carry out simple calculations of perimeters, areas and volumes.
Converting different units
- Units for measuring length, measuring mass, measuring area, measuring capacity, measuring volume, measuring time
- Conversions of mass, length and area, volumes, areas and equivalences, times
Reading and interpreting simple tables and graphs
- Reading graphs and tables; Setting up a situation on a timetable; Problem situations : error detection
Knowing basic geometric figures
- The basics of geometry; Quadrilaterals; Triangles
Calculating in geometry
- Notions of length and perimeter; Calculating perimeters; Measurements and perimeters
- Notions of areas and calculating areas of usual figures, whole volumes; Practical calculations on volumes.
Assessment criteria
- Reading the time on a digital or needle clock is correct, calculations (duration, conversion) are accurate; A work schedule is read and understood. Timetables (e.g. working hours) are transcribed without error on a form or schedule. The 3 types of unit of measurement (length, mass, capacity) and the associated measuring instruments are correctly identified. The units of measurement are correctly placed in a conversion table; the conversions made are accurate. The meaning of tables, diagrams or graphs is identified; the meaning of the data is understood. The answers to the questions relating to these representations are correct. Errors are identified and differentiated according to their nature (errors in writing units, operations, results, meaning of data, representation). Simple calculations of perimeters, areas and volumes are accurate.
