 CAP Vehicle maintenance - Light vehicles option

The holder of the Vehicle Maintenance CAP - Light Vehicle Option is able to carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities on vehicles equipped with internal combustion, hybrid and electric engines:

  • Periodic maintenance of vehicles
    Organisation of work
    Completion of checks defined by a procedure
    Replacement of wearing parts, fluids and/or adjusting tyre levels and pressures
    Preparing for roadworthiness tests
    Customer technical and vehicle maintenance advice
  • Corrective vehicle maintenance
    Preparing for servicing
    Reconforming systems
    Carrying out first-level diagnostics

In all his activities, he must:
- be part of their company's quality and sales approach: this involves contributing to the constant improvement of customer satisfaction
- comply with "Health - Safety - Environment" rules: this involves safeguarding people's health, ensuring the prevention of occupational hazards and applying the environmental standards in force
- comply with the time limits, instructions and procedures in force in the company.


BC01 - Carry out periodic maintenance on vehicles

- Organise periodic maintenance
- Identify anomalies as part of periodic maintenance
- Carry out replacement,
- Provide technical advice to customers on vehicle maintenance

BC02 - Carry out corrective maintenance on vehicles

- Prepare a corrective operation
- Carry out the replacement or repair of components
- Carry out the adjustment of systems
- Carry out quality control of a corrective intervention
- Carry out first-level diagnosis

BC03 - French and History-geography - Moral and civic education

BC04 - Mathematics and physics-chemistry

BC05 - Physical and sports education (for apprentices)

BC06 - Prevention - Health - Environment


  • Diploma from the Ministry of National Education and Youth Level 3

Maximum total duration of 3240 hours, including 2440 hours on the job and 800 hours at the training centre.

How to join the course

Contact us by email, telephone or on site for an application form. Here are the steps involved in examining your application:

  1. Checking prerequisites
    We will start by checking that you have the prerequisites needed to join the course.
    If this is not the case, your application cannot be accepted at this first stage. We will then suggest ways for you to follow a suitable course before you can apply again.
  2. Positioning tests
    You will be invited to take some positioning tests. The results will determine the next stage of your application, and you will be informed of the conclusions.
  3. Individual interview
    You will then be offered an interview to assess your motivation, the consistency between your career plan and the content of the course, and your ability to progress in the professional world on a sandwich course.
  4. Contract on a sandwich course
    For apprenticeship courses, final validation of your application will depend on the signing of a sandwich course contract with a company. You will therefore need to start actively looking for a company.

Training can be accessed between 15 and 45 days before the start of the course, depending on the funder. Please contact us.

For apprenticeships starting in September, the access period is from September to November (special cases, please contact us).

For continuing education, depending on profile and positioning, the access period is a maximum of 14 days after the start of the action (special cases please contact us).
