CAP in technical building maintenance

The holder will be involved in maintenance, renovation, refurbishment or alteration work on part of a building, both inside and out, in the residential sector, tertiary or industrial establishments and public or private community establishments (health, schools, administrative, etc.). To do this, he masters cross-disciplinary techniques: in finishing (tiling, plastering, painting...), installations and equipment (sanitary, thermal, electrical).

He is able to:

• Study and prepare for a project
• Perform and check standard work
• Perform specific work

Vocational teaching:

• Reading technical documents (plans, assembly instructions, instructions for use...) .
• Rules of conduct and regulations: prevention, health, environment.
• Study of the different parts that make up a building (electrical network, drinking water network, roofing, joinery, wall and floor coverings, glazing...) and their functions.
  • Find the reasons for a malfunction and remedy it;
  • Know the different materials that will be used for the various repair or refurbishment jobs;
  • Check, check that the installations are working properly and in good condition;
  • Organise, plan their work in compliance with safety rules.

The CAP leads to working life but it is possible, under certain conditions, to continue studies in 1 year with a complementary mention (MC) or a vocational qualification or in 2 years with a vocational baccalaureate.
