Public works contribute to regional development and the quality of life of users. The pipeline sector includes dry and wet networks: energy, water supply, sewerage, district heating, electrical works, telecommunications, fibre optics, gas, drainage and other pipelines. It accounts for 15% of public works activity. It includes both trenching and trenchless techniques.

The holder of this CAP will be able to, according to the following areas:

Study and prepare for work

Perform and inspect routine work

Perform specific work

Communicate in French

Master and use moral and civic education in history and geography

Research, extract and organise mathematical and physical chemistry information

Develop physical education and sport

Apply health and environmental rules

Comprehend orally and in writing and interact in a modern language

The course is organised into several skill modules, allowing for step-by-step progression. It alternates between theoretical input, practical exercises and assessment sessions to encourage hands-on, progressive learning.

BC01 - Planning and preparing the job

BC02 - Carrying out and inspecting a routine project

  • Organising your workstation and the project safely
  • Receiving supplies
  • Carrying out work near a network
  • Setting out and marking a routine project
  • Carrying out work in a trench
  • Constructing a pipework network
  • Carrying out a connection
  • Backfilling a trench and repairing the road surface
  • Taking part in the inspection and commissioning of a network

BC03 - Carrying out specific works

  • Carrying out works related to networks
  • Carrying out maintenance work on a network
  • Exchanging information and reporting verbally

BC04 - French and History-Geography – Moral and Civic Education

BC05 - Mathematics and Physics-Chemistry

BC06 - Physical Education and Sport

BC07 - Health, Safety and the Environment

  • Apply a method for analysing a situation in professional or everyday life and relevant documentation
  • Link a physiological phenomenon, an environmental issue or a regulatory provision to a preventative measure
  • Propose a solution to resolve a problem relating to health, the environment or consumer affairs, and justify a choice
  • Communicate in writing and orally
  • Respond appropriately to an emergency situation

BC08 - Modern Foreign Language

Throughout the course, learners receive personalised support with regular monitoring by the teaching team and progress reviews to tailor learning to each individual’s needs.

A work placement also enables students to develop professional skills in a real-world setting.

Skills are assessed progressively through role-plays, practical exercises, professional projects and assessments carried out throughout the course.

Our teaching methodology prioritises a practical, work-focused approach: case studies, role-plays, practical scenarios and collaborative activities enable learners to learn in conditions that closely resemble the real working world.

Assessments are organised throughout the course and at the end of the programme, in accordance with the qualification framework. Assessment tests may take the form of in-course assessments (CCF) and/or final examinations.

Support with exam preparation is provided throughout the course to help candidates succeed.

This qualification is awarded following validation by the academic examination board.

If a candidate fails the qualification, they retain credit for the modules they have passed and may retake the remaining examinations at a later date. The modules passed remain valid for 5 years

Apprenticeship training: The training is accessible within a minimum of 48 hours subject to validation of your application and the position in the company (diploma compliance) and this until the end of the 1st month of the start of the action.
