create, reproduce or restore marquetry on objects, decorative elements or furniture.
prepare and apply, by gluing, ornamental motifs cut from different materials (precious wood, tortoiseshell, horn, mother-of-pearl, etc.) to wooden surfaces.

Direct entry into employment mainly with artisan cabinetmakers and restorers of antique furniture and objects or in a high-end manufacturing workshop.
Continuation of studies possible with a vocational baccalaureate (bac pro) or master's certificate (brevet de maîtrise) in a woodworking speciality (cabinetmaking, woodcarving, etc.) leading to a Diplôme de fin d'études secondaires des métiers d'art (DFESMA) specialising in sculpture or to another CAP Tourneur or Sculpteur Ornemaniste to broaden the range of skills.
