Holders of a BTS in ‘Real Estate Professions’ carry out their duties across three main areas of activity, which require the application of a wide range of interpersonal, commercial, legal, organisational, administrative, financial, accounting and tax skills, amongst others. Advisory work plays a significant role in these areas.

The three main areas of activity are organised around:

- property letting: advising and supporting landlords and tenants

- managing co-ownership estates as an assistant or manager, with varying degrees of autonomy over the day-to-day management of their portfolio of co-owners

- sales, either as an employee or a self-employed agent. They build up their portfolio of properties and prospective clients, advise both the seller and the buyer on their respective wealth management strategies, and support them right through to the signing of the final deed
