BTS MMCM - Maintenance of Construction and Handling Equipment

The holder of the MMCM Advanced Technician's Certificate has, in his field, in-depth knowledge and skills that enable him to understand and explain the various functions of machinery and its equipment, to formulate a rapid and accurate diagnosis in the event of a malfunction and to recommend solutions to be implemented

The main objective of the training is to acquire the qualifications to become a professional in the maintenance and after-sales of public works and materials handling machinery.

Mastering both technologies and interpersonal skills, the MMCM advanced technician will be able to independently manage a customer base, which he or she will help to build loyalty thanks to his or her availability, technical skills and ability to manage human contact with customers.

Their activities: diagnosis, intervention, expertise, consultancy, maintenance management, organisation, service management, team leadership.

The senior technician can practise his profession for machine hire or machine maintenance companies, and companies of all sizes in the construction and public works sector

The course is organised into several skill modules, enabling step-by-step progression. It alternates between theoretical input, practical application and assessment sessions in order to promote practical and progressive learning.

BC01 - Analysis of a fault

BC02 - Carrying out a diagnosis

• Gathering information
• Identifying the fault
• Implementing equipment, measurement or diagnostic tools, and a procedure

BC03 - Organising and carrying out a repair

• Managing workstations
• Planning and managing operations
• Restoring compliance. Adjusting, calibrating, adapting and configuring

BC04 - Contributing to the running of a department

• Communicating internally and externally with third parties, including in English
• Producing a professional document

General education modules : French;  Mathematics and Physics; Modern foreign language;  Economics and management

Throughout the course, learners receive personalised support with regular monitoring by the teaching team and progress reviews to tailor learning to each individual’s needs.

A work placement also enables students to develop professional skills in a real-world setting.

Skills are assessed progressively through role-plays, practical exercises, professional projects and assessments carried out throughout the course.

Our teaching methodology prioritises a practical, work-focused approach: case studies, role-plays, practical scenarios and collaborative activities enable learning in conditions that closely resemble the real-world workplace.

Assessments are organised throughout the course and at the end of the programme, in accordance with the qualification framework. Assessment tests may take the form of in-course assessments (CCF) and/or final examinations.

Support with exam preparation is provided throughout the course to help candidates succeed.

This qualification is awarded following validation by the academic examination board.

If a candidate fails the qualification, they retain credit for the modules they have passed and may retake the remaining examinations at a later date. The modules passed remain valid for 5 years

• Careers: The holder of this BTS MMCM can perform several functions: maintain public works and handling machinery, distribute spare parts and develop products. They will be able to understand and explain the different functions of machinery and equipment, diagnose malfunctions, recommend solutions and advise users. They work in supply, distribution and rental companies and for equipment users.
  
  
• Further study: However, with a good record or a distinction in the exam, further study is possible in a professional bachelor's degree (particularly the technical or advanced maintenance technology specialisms) or in CPGE Classe préparatoire technologie industrielle post-bac+2 (ATS) to enter an engineering school.

  After one year's professional experience, it is also possible to prepare for the automotive expert diploma by benefiting from exemptions from certain training units.

• Parcours Réussite :
  • In order to take over the family business, Dorian F. completed an apprenticeship in BTS Maintenance de Matériel de Construction et de Manutention, which he passed with flying colours. During his studies, encouraged by his teachers and his excellent results, he entered the Concours Régional des Métiers and came 1st in his category.
