BTS MGTMN - Surveying and Digital Modelling Professions

The BTS MGTMN trains in the execution, exploitation and control of observations concerning the planimetric and altimetric position, shape, dimensions and identification of concrete, fixed and durable features existing on the surface of the ground at a given time. It forms the basic support for many human activities and, in particular, enables the rigorous definition of the rights attached to land ownership.

The MGTMN advanced technician implements various measurement, positioning, data capture and layout equipment. He processes the data collected using appropriate calculation, CAD and DAO resources. Its constant concern to produce quality work requires rigorous control in compliance with safety rules. He exploits technical and legal documents by preparing and organising the information gathered.

His activities are:

STUDY: study the environment: survey ground altitude levels and characteristics using optical and electronic precision measurements (electronic total stations, GPS), study land development projects: reparcelling, irrigation, drainage, make use of town planning documents

PRODUCTION: record studies in freehand sketches and format them for editing in graphics (plans, CAD maps, topographical surveys).
implementing projects in the field, checking their execution, supervising and checking engineering structures.

EXPERTISE: assisting the expert in formulating opinions on land or development problems by integrating economic and regulatory aspects, preparing a land ownership file, appraising and valuing property, carrying out property management and mediation.

• All audiences

BAC S, STI2D BAC PRO technicien géomètre topographe or level IV with 2 years' professional experience. Holders of a Bac Pro with a mention bien or très bien in the bac are admitted by right to the corresponding BTS in their speciality if they meet the application conditions.
