The activities of this technician are carried out in laboratories associated with production or research and development:

In control laboratories, the technician is responsible for testing the compliance of raw materials and manufactured products with specifications.
In formulation production workshops, the technician must meet the customer's specifications but also be able to carry out expert appraisals and respond to customer complaints.
In research and development laboratories, the technician works on the synthesis of new molecules or formulates innovative products in his/her production sector (cosmetics, paint, etc.). He/she carries out analyses of products under development, but is also capable of developing new analysis methods.
