The programme is structured around several skill blocks (BC):
BC01 - Study of synthesis and analysis protocols and professional cases in formulation and analysis
- Take ownership of a specification, an operating procedure
- Identify the characteristics and quality of the products to be used
- Write an experimental protocol
- Estimate the cost of a manufacture, a synthesis, an analysis
- Calculate and express a result
- Analyse a result and compare it with the expected specificities
BC02 - Professional laboratory activities
- Select the methods, techniques and materials according to the experiment to be carried out
- Prepare products, materials and accessories on the most common laboratory equipment
- Carry out first-level maintenance on equipment, from a manual
- Implement the experimental protocol
- Apply procedures (safety data sheet, PPE)
- Detect non-conformities in quality control and R&D activities with regard to safety, environmental protection and quality requirements and alert
- Modify, improve or transfer the protocol
- Organise the work and plan experiments to meet deadlines
- Manage the stock of products in accordance with regulations
- Ensure the traceability of activities
- Be autonomous and show initiative, critical thinking and curiosity
- Working as part of a team in a multicultural and/or multidisciplinary group
BC03 - Responding to specifications drawn up by the professional team
- Researching and appropriating all information relating to the request, safety data
- Researching information on regulatory and technological developments
- Expressing oneself, writing and exchanging using different modes of communication
- Using different office automation tools
- Adapting one's communication to different interlocutors
BC04 - Conducting a project in a professional environment
- Using notions of technical English, both written and oral

The BTS is a diploma designed for professional integration.
