BTS in Water Professions

Holders of this BTS work in wastewater treatment, rainwater treatment and water distribution. Working alongside the engineer, they have the skills needed to manage a team, provide technical management of installations, operate the network and organise maintenance operations. Senior technicians specialising in water treatment carry out their duties in the water treatment, distribution, sanitation and purification sectors, as well as in related environmental activities. He may work for local authorities, water distribution or user companies, design offices and research teams, equipment suppliers and specialised administrations and agencies. You will be called upon to perform the following duties: technical management of facilities (operation and regulation of installations, operation of networks, maintenance), management and leadership, communication and consultancy, information management, technical research and development, quality assurance.

This course alternates 2 weeks at the training centre and 2 weeks in companies. In addition to general courses (French, modern foreign language, mathematics, physics, chemistry, economics and business management, IT), the course includes the following vocational courses:

• Water treatment process engineering: study of water production and purification processes and methods of sampling, analysis and quality control of water
• Hydraulics: application of the rules of hydrodynamics and hydrostatics in water-related activities (purification, distribution, production..)
• Automation, electro-automation, regulation, remote management: mastery of automated management processes
• Microbiology, biochemistry, biology: study of bacterial populations, micro-organisms and aseptic handling

Maximum total duration of 3220 hours, including 1870 hours in a company and 1350 hours at the training centre.
