BTS Vehicle Maintenance - Option A Passenger cars

Depending on the size of the company, the holder of the advanced technician's certificate

in vehicle maintenance carries out all or part of his or her activities in a

maintenance workshop, or an assistance platform.

The aims of the course are to:

• Perform a complex diagnosis
• Perform complex maintenance and repair operations
• Organise maintenance and repair activities
• Manage customer relations

Vocational teaching modules:

• System analysis and performance monitoring
• Management of an intervention:

- customer relations

- work on a vehicle

• Company knowledge
• Measurement and analysis

General teaching modules : General culture and expression; Mathematics; Physics and chemistry; English

• Diploma from the Ministry of National Education and Youth Level 5 (BTS)

The holder of this diploma can then work as : Diagnostic and maintenance technician, after-sales receptionist, technical advisor, workshop team leader, "hot line" technical advisor for a manufacturer or equipment supplier, workshop manager.

• Careers: Holders of the BTS in vehicle maintenance work in companies in manufacturers' after-sales networks, brand dealerships, independent companies or networks, vehicle fleet maintenance departments (large companies or the State), manufacturers' after-sales methods departments.

  Workshop receptionist, service advisor, team or unit manager, diagnostic technician, manufacturer's technical advisor are the most common professions and functions in after-sales departments.

  
  
• Course continuation: The BTS vehicle maintenance is a qualifying diploma that does not necessarily require further study. Nevertheless, there are several avenues to pursue: training, management, expertise, teaching.

  The vocational licences available (bac+3) are in the mechanical engineering sector (engineering sciences, industrial techniques pathway, electronic equipment) and bodywork (technology, maintenance of multi-technology systems). A technical-commercial orientation can also be envisaged.

  
  
• Successful course:

  • After 2 years of vocational baccalaureate Vehicle Maintenance option Public Works, Alicia began a salaried job in machine maintenance.

    A fan of motor vehicles, and confident of her potential, Alicia returned to training through apprenticeship to take a BTS Vehicle Maintenance option Private Vehicles. Top of her class in 2022, she now occupies a leading position within the company that trained her.
