 BTS Building (from 01/09/2026)

This sandwich course is eligible for the CPF.
Show all
from 1 September 2026 to 30 June 2028

The holder of the BTS provides the interface between the worksite, suppliers and the company's hierarchy. He/she is involved at all levels from the design of technical solutions to the acceptance of works in compliance with the regulatory framework and technical and environmental issues.

At the end of the course, he/she will be able to:

  • design technical solutions from the specification of the need to the detailed definition, in the context of new construction or refurbishment;
  • design, with or without digital assistance, the process of building a structure;
  • validate and technically and economically optimise the "work-process-materials" relationship, particularly in the case of interfaces between structural work and secondary and technical trades;
  • manage a site, guaranteeing progress, quality and safety;
  • manage a site, in human, material, economic and environmental terms;
  • provide a technical and economic response to a request.

In all these activities, the imperatives of quality, cost, safety and human relations are always present, as well as the influence of the environment on the execution of the contract.
As part of their duties, the senior building technician seeks to develop relations and commercial approaches with customers. This diploma develops the skills that will enable the future professional to take account of fundamental, new or future expectations:
- Prevention of occupational risks and safety at work.
- Prevention and reduction of environmental impacts (low-carbon approach, taking account of natural risks, pollution prevention, etc.).
- Preservation of natural resources, particularly by optimising projects and better waste management.
- Diversity and specificity of construction solutions: decarbonised traditional materials, bio-sourced materials, recycled or reused materials, mixed structures, etc.
- Quality approach and self-checking procedures.
- Management of site teams.
- Developments in digital professional practices (digital tools, artificial intelligence, digital models, collaborative platforms, augmented work environments: augmented and virtual reality, etc.)
- Approaches to optimising work processes (Lean management applied to the company and to construction sites, prefabrication, off-site construction, etc.).

The course is organised into several skill modules, enabling step-by-step progression. It alternates between theoretical input, practical application and assessment sessions in order to promote practical and progressive learning.

Throughout the course, learners receive personalised support with regular monitoring by the teaching team and progress reviews to tailor learning to each individual’s needs.

A work placement also enables students to develop professional skills in a real-world setting.

Skills are assessed progressively through role-plays, practical exercises, professional projects and assessments carried out throughout the course.

Our teaching methodology prioritises a practical, work-focused approach: case studies, role-plays, practical scenarios and collaborative activities enable learning in conditions that closely resemble the real working world.
