The BPJEPS "socio-educational and cultural activities" qualification enables the holder to carry out his/her professional activity independently, using one or more technical aids in the fields of educational, cultural and social activities, within the limits of the regulatory frameworks.

The activity leader is responsible for his or her action from an educational, technical and organisational point of view and ensures the safety of third parties and the public in his or her charge.

The holder of this BP JEPS is able to:

  • responsibly lead an educational action that is part of the structure's project
  • supervise all types of public, in all reception or practice venues, taking into account the public and the territorial contexts in which these public live.
  • propose and design projects based on the observations made of the public they are hosting and the funding available to the structure

The BPJEPS activity leader meets the requirements relating to the functions of activity leader in holiday and leisure camps, of the code of social action and families.


BC01 - Design and implement activity projects as part of the work organisation of a structure in the field of sport or activity

Locate yourself in your area and identify the local players

Identify the needs of the various target audiences with particular attention to audiences in a disability situation(s)

Propose and organise a project taking into account the resources that can be mobilised within the structure, and the potential ecological impact of the project

Monitor the actions carried out by organising those of each member of the team

Complete the administrative obligations using different digital tools

Report the conclusions of the project to its manager, identifying the main positive factors and points for improvement

BC02 - Promoting the activities and projects of a structure in the field of sport or entertainment

Communicating information about the activities on offer

Adapting your communication to the characteristics and needs of the public, in particular people with disabilities,

Selecting tools and writing communication content

BC03 - Design, run, safely and evaluate activity sequences and cultural, educational or social activity sessions

Define the objectives of an activity sequence, by integrating an educational progression

Choosing appropriate animation methods and tools

Defining the content, conduct and evaluation of the animation sequence

Welcoming the public during the activity session, presenting the collective framework of the session, its conduct, its rules, with a view to encouraging them to join in

Gathering the requests and expectations expressed by the participants

Leading the planned session independently and safely

Supporting the participants, using popular education approaches, to encourage their emancipation

Adapting the planned session, identifying any obstacles or difficulties encountered

Evaluating the effects of the activity session, by gathering feedback from the public

Analysing the activity sequence in order to formulate proposals for improvement

BC04 - Organising and supervising the "living together" of the public welcomed

Building relationships with the personal and professional entourage of the public welcomed

Disseminating verified information on societal issues

Regulating group phenomena

Organising transitional times, calm times or periods of free time by adapting them to the characteristics of the audiences

Instablish interactions within the group

Develop approaches that enable the group to function harmoniously by strengthening the psychosocial skills of each individual


  • Diploma from the Ministry of Sports Level 4 (Baccalauréat, BP, BT)

Maximum total duration of 1,300 hours, including 600 hours on the job and 700 hours at the training centre.
The duration of the course is indicative and will be determined according to your profile.

Have one of the following first aid certificates:

  • at least the certificate of competence relating to the "level 1 civic prevention and first aid" teaching unit (PSC1) or equivalent,
  • the occupational first aid certificate (SST)
