The holder of this diploma is a highly qualified worker capable of occupying a job corresponding to the complex activities of the marine carpenter trade. They are involved in the construction and repair of ships made of wood and associated materials. They are skilled in the use of interfaces between wood and other products (steel, light alloys, composites, etc.), and plotting is one of the strong points of their trade. His skills enable him to work in the prototyping and modelling sector of major yachting companies.
In their field of work, holders of the BP marine carpenter qualification are required to:
- independently carry out complex operations,
- lead a team,
- maintain relations between the company's various departments and customers.
All their tasks are carried out in compliance with the rules for preventing occupational hazards.
Theoretical vocational teaching:
- Technical and scientific study of a work: technical analysis of a vessel, preparation of a project, mathematical and scientific study
Practical vocational teaching:
- Épure et gabariage
- Réalisation et suivi des ouvrages en entreprise
- Fabrication d'un ouvrage complexe
Enseignement général:
- Expression française et ouverture sur le monde (dispensation possible par condition de diplôme)

Have a CAP in marine carpentry or a complementary qualification in naval carpentry in wood and associated materials, or provide proof of five years' professional experience related to the purpose of the Brevet professionnel Charpentier de marine.
