BAC PRO Dental Prosthesis Technician

The holder of the BAC PRO Dental Prosthetic Technician is a qualified technician involved in the design and manufacture of custom-made medical devices (CMMD) at various levels using traditional and/or digital methods.

He/she is able to:

• Design and manufacture a prosthetic element in the traditional way or using a digital system
• Organise the work in a traditional or digital production line
• Analyse health and environmental risks to participate in the implementation of preventive measures
• Be able to adapt to technological developments in materials, equipment, processes and techniques

Professional teaching modules:

Block 01 - Integration of the professional environment of the dental prosthesis technician

- Communicate in writing and orally using appropriate technical vocabulary

- Organise work in a traditional or digital production line

- Analyse a situation in order to control the quality of a production

-. Analyse health and environmental risks in order to participate in the implementation of preventive measures

Block 02 - Design of a prosthetic element using a digital system

- Acquire usable digital files

- Prepare the virtual work area

- Model a prosthetic element, using anatomo-physiological parameters, applying the software procedure

- Finalise the design

Block 03 - Manufacture a prosthetic element traditionally or using a digital system

- Manage materials and equipment before, during and after manufacture

- Implement a traditional manufacturing procedure

- Implement an additive digital manufacturing procedure

- Carry out a visual and functional check to verify the conformity of the technical object

- Implement the risk prevention approach specific to the trade

Apprenticeship training: Training is available within a minimum of 48 hours, subject to validation of your application and the position in the company (diploma compliance), until the end of the 1st month in which the action begins.

The holder of the BAC PRO Dental Prosthesis Technician carries out his activity independently and under the responsibility of his line manager ( company manager, laboratory manager...) in companies manufacturing dental prostheses or offering services to dental prosthesis professionals.

They can go on to study for a BTS in Dental Prosthetics.
