 BAC PRO Catering Marketing and Services

To become a qualified professional, operational in catering marketing and service activities and to do this:

- perform reception duties in French and English, marketing, animation and management, in all sectors and forms of catering;

- anchor their professional action in demanding regulations, particularly in the fields of hygiene, health and safety;

- anticipate and then react effectively to the behaviour of better informed and more demanding consumers.


The course is organised into several skill modules, allowing for step-by-step progression. It alternates between theoretical input, practical exercises and assessment sessions to promote practical and progressive learning.

BC01 - Design and organisation of catering services

  • Managing bookings, customer satisfaction and loyalty
  • Organising set-up, teams and activities
  • Managing supplies, receipts and storage
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety and quality standards
  • Monitoring production and managing unforeseen events
  • Promoting products and ensuring service quality

BC02 - Marketing and management applied to the catering sector

  • Communicate with teams, suppliers and partners
  • Optimise the organisation and performance of the service
  • Manage procurement and stock
  • Control costs and analyse sales
  • Monitor results and implement corrective measures
  • Contribute to market monitoring and business development

BC03 - Communication, sales approach, organisation and delivery of services (bar, wine service, food)

Throughout the programme, learners receive personalised support with regular monitoring by the teaching team and progress reviews to tailor learning to each individual’s needs.

A work placement also enables students to develop professional skills in a real-world setting.

Skills are assessed progressively through role-plays, practical exercises, professional projects and assessments carried out throughout the course.

Our teaching methodology prioritises a practical, work-focused approach: case studies, role-plays, practical scenarios and collaborative activities enable learners to learn in conditions that closely resemble the real working world.

BEP, CAP Commercialisation et services en HCR or première générale or equivalent professional experience.

Good physical stamina and the ability to adapt to working hours are recommended. Organisational skills, the ability to communicate and work as part of a team, and great curiosity are all desirable qualities.

Education Nationale certified teachers, Bac +3 trainers with significant experience in adult education, professional lecturers.


Assessments are organised throughout the course and at the end of the programme, in accordance with the qualification framework. Assessment tests may take the form of in-course assessments (CCF) and/or final examinations.

Support with exam preparation is provided throughout the course to help candidates succeed.

This qualification is awarded following validation by the academic examination board.

If a candidate fails the qualification, they retain credit for the modules they have passed and may retake the remaining examinations at a later date. The modules passed remain valid for 5 years

Depending on personal abilities, the size of the establishments and after a period of adaptation, the bachelor can occupy the following positions: chef de rang, maître d'hôtel, assistant to the restaurant manager for the commercial catering sector, as well as for the collective catering sector.

All these positions depend on the size of the establishment as well as the type of catering practised.

As an employee, his or her activity may take place in the commercial catering or mass catering sectors, in companies related to hotels and catering (agri-food, equipment manufacturers, etc).

Possibility of continuing studies at BTS level.
