The medico-administrative assistant secretary is the patient's first point of contact and works closely with the healthcare professionals in a medical facility.

At the end of the training course, the trainee will be able to:

  • Welcome, inform and guide patients while respecting the rules of confidentiality and ethics
  • Manage the administrative activities and planning of a medical structure
  • Manage and monitor the patient file from an administrative and medico-administrative point of view
  • Produce and process professional medical writings (transcription, (transcription, formatting, distribution)
  • Coordinate information between the various players in the patient pathway
  • Effectively use digital tools and business software
  • Adopt an appropriate professional stance (communication, rigour, discretion, management of sensitive situations)

BC01 - Carrying out patient reception and routine administrative activities in a medical structure

  • Greeting, inform and direct a patient
  • Manage the schedules and diaries of healthcare professionals
  • Perform the administrative and financial management of the patient
  • Transmit administrative and medical information in writing internally and externally

BC02 - To assist health professionals in a medical structure in monitoring and coordinating patient care

  • To ensure medico-administrative monitoring of patient records
  • To transcribe, checking and formatting medical documents
  • Instructing on access to the patient's medical file or preparing the elements

The professional qualification is made up of two blocks of skills known as Certificates of Professional Competence (CCP) which correspond to the activities previously listed.It is accessible by capitalisation of certificates of professional skills (CCP) or following a training course. Validation may be partial or total.

The validation tests comprise:

Professional situational test:03 h 45 min, based on a case study taking place in the fictitious context of a medical structure.

Part 1: written situational test (duration: 03 h 00)
Based on information and instructions, the candidate analyses professional situations, deals with files and produces the associated documents.

Part 2: oral role-play (duration: 00 h 45)
Based on pre-established scenarios chosen by the jury, the candidate has 15 minutes to prepare before dealing with two reception situations:

Physical reception situation (duration 10 minutes) and a telephone reception situation (duration 5 minutes):

The candidate has 15 minutes to draft, transmit the necessary documents to the interlocutors concerned and update a diary according to the scenarios chosen by the jury.

Technical interview:00 h 20 min

The jury questions the candidate on the work of the written situation and on non-assessed aspects of the skill "Carrying out the administrative and financial management of the patient".

Final interview: 00 h 15 min

Including time for discussion with the candidate on the professional dossier.

Total duration of the test for the candidate: 04 h 20 min


  • Professional qualification from the Ministry of Labour Level 4

Total maximum duration of 480 hours, including 882 hours in a company and 1362 hours at the training centre.
The duration of the course is indicative and will be determined according to your profile.

Speaking a second language (English) will be a plus in the context of welcoming foreign beneficiaries
