 Plasterer vocational qualification

The plasterer works in all types of new buildings or buildings to be renovated to carry out the interior fitting of premises, using prefabricated elements made of dry materials in plasterboard and similar, including the treatment of joints and rework to manual plastering.

The aims of the training are to lead the professional to:

  • know how to organise their workstation and report to their manager on the progress of the site.
  • know how to construct ceilings, linings, partitions and set up constructive systems to ensure the airtightness, water vapour management, thermal and acoustic insulation of buildings.
  • know how to draw and lay out plans and create metal frameworks on which to fix plasterboard and similar materials
  • know how to use fixed scaffolding and assemble, use and dismantle rolling scaffolding
  • assure finishing work by grouting and rendering.
  • know how to comply with individual and collective health and safety rules.
  • know the principles of sustainable development and carry out selective sorting of waste according to category, generated by its activity.

The course is organised into several skill modules, allowing for step-by-step progression. It alternates between theoretical input, practical exercises and assessment sessions to promote practical and progressive learning.

BC01 –  Carrying out interior fit-out using plasterboard and similar materials

  • Receiving and using fixed scaffolding, and erecting, dismantling and knowing how to use mobile scaffolding
  • Dismantling interior fit-out structures
  • Installing thermal insulation in panels or rolls, and systems forairtightness and water vapour control systems
  • Install removable and non-removable suspended ceilings on a framework
  • Install wall cladding and lining partitions using plasterboard and similar materials on a framework
  • Install plasterboard and similar partitions on a framework incorporating various types of openings
  • Receive and use fixed scaffolding, and erect, dismantle and know how to use mobile scaffolding

BC02 -Carry out  joint and plaster finish treatment

  • Carry out joint treatment on plasterboard and similar substrates
  • Carry out manual plaster finish work

Throughout the course, trainees receive personalised support with regular monitoring by the teaching team and progress reviews to tailor the learning to each individual’s needs.

A work placement also enables learners to develop their professional skills in a real-world setting.

Skills are assessed progressively through role-plays, practical exercises, professional projects and assessments carried out throughout the course.

Our teaching methodology prioritises a practical, work-focused approach: case studies, role-plays, practical scenarios and collaborative activities enable learning in conditions that closely resemble the real-world workplace.

Maximum total duration of 1607 hours, including 1187 hours on the job and 420 hours at the training centre.

For this professional qualification, ongoing assessments (ECF) are organised throughout the course to evaluate the candidate’s progress and their mastery of professional skills.

The final examination takes place before a two-member examination panel comprising professionals from the sector. It comprises a professional role-play and an interview based on the professional portfolio (DP), which highlights the experience and skills developed by the candidate.

The final examination takes place within two months of the end of the training course.

The examination panel validates all or part of the Professional Qualification. In the event of partial validation, the professional competence certificates (CCP) (or competence modules) obtained are valid for a period of five years.

The candidate may subsequently complete the missing modules to obtain the Professional Qualification in its entirety.
