BIM Building Modeller Vocational Qualification

At the end of the course, the candidate will be able to:

• Model a building project in 3D by integrating technical, regulatory and architectural data.
• Update and enhance the digital model according to changes in the project and information from those involved.
• Check that the project complies with current regulations and propose appropriate adaptations.
• Collaborate effectively in a BIM environment, both internally and with external partners depending on the nature of the project.
• Produce the deliverables required for each phase of the project (preliminary design, planning permission, execution), using modelling software.
• Prepare the technical and graphical summary of the project to facilitate coordination and prevent conflicts.
• Create a digital model of an existing building from a 3D survey, respecting the BIM convention.
• Organise and document the digital model in accordance with interoperability standards and the requirements of the ecological transition.
• Integrate environmental issues (RE 2020, energy performance, life cycle) into project modelling.
• Use BIM tools (3D/2D software, collaborative platforms, IFC viewers) on a daily basis to produce, share and exploit project data.

The course is organised into several skill modules, enabling step-by-step progression. It alternates between theoretical input, practical exercises and assessment sessions to promote hands-on, progressive learning.

BC01 – Produce the drawings for a project during the preliminary design phase and compile a planning application

• Ensuring a project complies with regulations during the preliminary design phase

BC02 - Produce the digital model during the design phase in accordance with the BIM standard

• Organise the project in accordance with the BIM standard
• Ensure a project complies with regulations during the design phase
• Produce the digital model and the detail manual for the tender documentation in accordance with the BIM standard
• Prepare the summary of technical and architectural drawings in BIM

BC03 - Produce the graphic documentation for an existing building in accordance with BIM standards

• Carry out a digital survey of an existing building
• Model an existing building in accordance with BIM standards

Throughout the course, students receive personalised support with regular monitoring by the teaching team and progress reviews to tailor the learning to each individual’s needs.

A work placement also enables learners to develop professional skills in a real-world setting.

Skills are assessed progressively through role-plays, practical exercises, professional projects and assessments carried out throughout the course.

Education Nationale certified teachers, Bac +3 trainers with significant experience in adult education, professional lecturers.

For this professional qualification, ongoing assessments (ECF) are organised throughout the course to evaluate the candidate’s progress and their mastery of professional skills.

The final examination takes place before a two-member examination panel comprising professionals from the sector. It comprises a professional role-play and an interview based on the professional portfolio (DP), which highlights the experience and skills developed by the candidate.

The final examination takes place within two months of the end of the training course.

The examination panel validates all or part of the Professional Qualification. In the event of partial validation, the professional competence certificates (CCP) (or competence modules) obtained are valid for a period of five years.

The candidate may subsequently complete the missing modules to obtain the Professional Qualification in its entirety.
