Professional qualification: Private Safety and Security Agent (TP A2SP)

In compliance with legislation and regulations, the code of ethics, procedures and instructions, the private safety and security agent carries out missions related to human surveillance and fire safety, subject to proving that he meets the requirements and conditions laid down by each of the two sets of regulations. Access to the practice of human surveillance is regulated and requires the possession of a professional card. The main objectives of the training are to ensure that the safety and security agent is able to:

• provide human surveillance services as part of a continuous improvement approach to security
• provide human surveillance services as part of a prevention and protection approach against risks and threats
• provide human surveillance services on sensitive sites as part of a reinforced protection approach.

The training programme leading to the Private Security Officer (A2SP) qualification comprises three certificates of professional competence (CCP). Successful completion of these three CCPs leads to the award of the professional qualification. To obtain the qualification , the candidate must pass all three CCPs that make up the qualification. Successful completion of CCP 1 and CCP 2 enables candidates to apply (on an exceptional basis) to the CNAPS for the issue of a professional licence.

CCP 1 - BC01 - To provide manned security services as part of a process of continuous improvement in security, quality and sustainability

• Provide a high-quality reception service, both in person and over the telephone
• Control access using physical, digital and/or connected devices.
• Detect or resolve conflicts in a secure environment.
• Contribute to preventative and operational management at the security post.

CCP 2 - BC02 - To provide manned surveillance as part of a strategy to prevent and protect against risks and threats

• Preventing situations that give rise to risks
• Detecting suspicious behaviour and responding appropriately
• Carrying out all necessary actions in response to an anomaly or an alarm

CCP 3 - BC03 - Provide manned security services at sensitive sites as part of an enhanced security programme

• Prevent and respond to fire incidents in premises open to the public and high-rise buildings
• Monitor a so-called ‘sensitive’ site ’ and respond appropriately

Participants will be able to prepare for the examinations for the Workplace First Aid Certificate (SST), BS/BE electrical qualifications and the SSIAP 1 certification.

Mastery of spoken and written French: level B1 of the CEFR required. Preliminary or provisional authorisation for training issued by the CNAPS when the administrative file is compiled. People who obtained their prior authorisation before the date of promulgation of the law requiring applicants to hold a 5-year residence permit will be able to obtain a professional card on successful completion of their training.

The training takes place in person at the centre, which provides the ideal setting for building group dynamics, encouraging interactive discussions between trainees and making use of professional equipment.

Teachers certified by the French Education Nationale, Bac +3 trainers with significant experience in adult training, professional speakers.

For this professional qualification, in-training assessments (ECF) are organised throughout the course to evaluate the candidate’s progress and their mastery of professional skills.

The final examination takes place before a two-member panel comprising professionals from the sector. It comprises a professional role-play and an interview based on the professional portfolio (DP), which highlights the experience and skills developed by the candidate.

The final examination takes place within two months of the end of the training course.

The examination board validates all or part of the Professional Qualification. In the event of partial validation, the certificates of professional competence (CCP) (or competence blocks) obtained are valid for a period of 5 years.

The candidate may subsequently complete the missing blocks to obtain the Professional Qualification in its entirety.
