The gas heating appliance maintenance technician carries out maintenance and repairs on domestic and collective heating installations, excluding any industrial installations. They also provide customers with energy advice. More commonly known as boilers, the purpose of these appliances is to heat water to a pre-set temperature using a gas burner, and to transmit the heated water to radiators (the radiator allows heat to be exchanged between two media: water and ambient air), and/or to produce domestic hot water (DHW). The appliance technologies are either condensing or atmospheric burner types. They can be connected to a chimney flue, a GAS-controlled mechanical ventilation system (VMC) or a suction cup. The technician works on gas-fired heating appliances with a maximum output of 70 kW, installed on the floor or wall. He does not work on appliances above this output, which are generally referred to as boiler rooms.
These maintenance operations are carried out, generally, as part of contractual commitments and customer satisfaction while guaranteeing the safety of appliances and people.
