The installer-maintainer in solar thermal and photovoltaic systems is proficient in both fields.

He provides comprehensive expertise, enabling him to work on all aspects of the solar installation: plumbing - heating, roofing - zinc work, electricity - regulation, solar thermal and photovoltaic systems. They are also able to advise on, define and draw up a technical proposal.

The holder of the CQP "Installer-maintainer in solar thermal and photovoltaic systems" is recognised within the National Collective Agreement for Building Workers at Level IV Position 1.

This training differs from that for heating engineers. It meets a strong demand in the solar thermal and photovoltaic market.

BC01 – Organising the installation or maintenance of solar thermal and photovoltaic systems in complete safety

Plan the work in terms of administration, personnel, equipment, logistics and safety, based on the detailed design and in consultation with one’s line manager, to ensure the project commences on schedule

Set up the necessary tools, materials and consumables on site (in the correct location, in the correct quantity and of the correct size), in accordance with the team leader’s instructions, in order to carry out the solar panel installation work whilst meeting the required standards of safety, quality and timeliness

Clear away equipment (tools, accessories and roof access equipment) from the site, either by storing it in designated areas or by following the company’s procedures for returning equipment to the hire company

Clean the work area in accordance with instructions to ensure that activities in the area can continue once the project is complete

Hand over the completed installation by completing the necessary documentation and demonstrating how it works to the client, so that the client can use it correctly over time and to facilitate future maintenance operations

BC02 - Install and maintain solar thermal and photovoltaic systems safely

Contribute to drawing up the quotation for the installation or maintenance of the solar system, in support of your line manager, by discussing the client’s expectations and taking part in the diagnostic work on the proposed or existing installation, in order to provide the client with a bespoke quotation tailored to their needs

Help draw up the works specification, in support of your line manager, based on the diagnostic assessment and the pre-prepared quotation, in order to prepare for the installation of solar systems in accordance with the required standards of safety, quality and timeliness

Secure the structure onto the existing roof or integrate the solar panels/collectors, whilst ensuring the structure is watertight, in order to guarantee the quality of the work carried out

Install the solar panels on the roof or frame, using the appropriate lifting equipment and following the handling instructions specific to each product, in order to ensure they are installed correctly

Connect the photovoltaic or thermal solar panels, ensuring the installation is functioning correctly, in order to complete the fitting of the photovoltaic or thermal solar panels

Carry out the necessary maintenance work, referring to the project documentation and maintenance records, to ensure the system can be used safely over the long term and in accordance with the expected quality standards
