CAP MVTR- Vehicle maintenance - Road transport vehicles option

The holder of the CAP Vehicle Maintenance - Road Transport Vehicle Option is able to carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities on vehicles equipped with internal combustion, hybrid and electric engines:

• Periodic maintenance of vehicles
  Organisation of work
  Completion of checks defined by a procedure
  Replacement of wearing parts, fluids and/or adjusting tyre levels and pressures
  Preparing for roadworthiness tests
  Customer technical and vehicle maintenance advice
• Corrective vehicle maintenance
  Preparing for servicing
  Reconforming systems
  Carrying out first-level diagnostics

In all his activities, he must:
- be part of their company's quality and sales approach: this involves contributing to the constant improvement of customer satisfaction
- comply with "Health - Safety - Environment" rules: this involves safeguarding people's health, ensuring the prevention of occupational hazards and applying the environmental standards in force
- comply with the time limits, instructions and procedures in force in the company.

The training is organised into several skill modules, allowing for step-by-step progression. It alternates between theoretical input, practical exercises and assessment sessions to encourage hands-on, progressive learning.

BC02 - Carry out corrective maintenance on vehicles

• Carry out quality control on a corrective repair
• Carry out first-level diagnostics

BC04 - Mathematics and Physics-Chemistry

BC05 - Physical Education and Sport (for apprentices)

BC06 - Prevention – Health – Environment

Throughout the course, learners receive personalised support with regular monitoring by the teaching team and progress reviews to tailor learning to each individual’s needs.

A work placement also enables students to develop their professional skills in a real-world setting.

Skills are assessed progressively through role-plays, practical exercises, professional projects and assessments carried out throughout the course.

Our teaching methodology prioritises a practical, work-focused approach: case studies, role-plays, practical scenarios and collaborative activities enable learners to learn in conditions that closely resemble the real working world.

Assessments are organised throughout the course and at the end of the programme, in accordance with the qualification framework. Assessment tests may take the form of in-course assessments (CCF) and/or final examinations.

Support with exam preparation is provided throughout the course to help candidates succeed.

This qualification is awarded following validation by the academic examination board.

If a candidate fails the qualification, they retain credit for the modules they have passed and may retake the remaining examinations at a later date. The modules passed remain valid for 5 years

• Career prospects: The CAP in Vehicle Maintenance (Road Transport Vehicles option) enables you to work at an authorised repair centre or a dealership.
  After obtaining your qualification, you will be able to work as a road transport vehicle mechanic. 
  
  
• Further study options: The CAP leads directly into employment, but it is possible, subject to certain conditions, to continue your studies and prepare for a Vocational Baccalaureate in Vehicle Maintenance (road transport option), a Professional Branch Certificate (CQP) as a Senior Technician in Commercial and Industrial Vehicles (VUI) or as a Specialist VUI Mechanic.

  • Mamadou C. arrived in France recently with a strong desire to succeed in the field of mechanics. Spotted at a careers fair by GRETA-CFA, he was referred to a partner company where he is currently employed on an apprenticeship contract for the CAP in Vehicle Maintenance, specialising in road transport vehicles. He is making rapid progress in acquiring professional skills as well as learning the language. He and his employer are already discussing the possibility of him continuing his studies towards a vocational baccalaureate.
