Acquire the theoretical and practical foundations to work in construction, fitting out and equipping functions within shipbuilding and ship and river repair companies, on ships made of wood or associated or synthetic materials.
The holder of the CAP works on the hull, decks, superstructures and interior fittings by implementing various construction systems. He installs a variety of technical equipment needed to manoeuvre the ship and to ensure safety and comfort on board.
In the course of his activities, the marine carpenter notes the characteristics and traces the constituent parts of a ship, carries out machining and shaping operations, carries out reinforcement lamination operations, carries out assembly and fitting operations, and carries out waterproofing, finishing and treatment operations.
The course is organised into several skill modules, enabling step-by-step progression. It alternates between theoretical input, practical exercises and assessment sessions to promote practical and progressive learning.

Assessments are organised throughout the course and at the end of the programme, in accordance with the qualification framework. Assessment tests may take the form of in-course assessments (CCF) and/or final examinations.
Support with exam preparation is provided throughout the course to help candidates succeed.
This qualification is awarded following validation by the academic examination board.
If a candidate fails the qualification, they retain credit for the modules they have passed and may retake the remaining examinations at a later date. The modules passed remain valid for 5 years
Interview by appointment and in order to obtain funding from the Conseil Régional Paca, it is necessary to present the liaison form from the prescriber (local mission or France Travail)
