In a cross-disciplinary manner, the holder of the "Vehicle Maintenance" advanced technician's certificate mobilises:

• technical skills in different aspects of maintenance;
• organisational and management skills;
• information technology skills for communication purposes and the use of specialised software;
• internal (teamwork) and external (customer relations, technical assistance platform) communication skills;
• commercial skills.

The course is made up of Competency Blocks (CB):

BC01 - Systems analysis and performance monitoring

• Describing how a system works
• Identifying the input/output quantities of a system
• Characterising the performance of a system

BC02 - Managing an intervention -. Customer relations

• Propose economically appropriate solutions
• Apply appropriate preventive measures
• Provide technical support to employees
• Apply customer service relations (including in English)

BC03 - Intervention on a vehicle

- Management of a service call - vehicle repair Intervention on vehicle

• Skills list Validate malfunction
• Estimate symptoms
• Determine faulty components
• Organise intervention
• Repair, adjust, parameterise
• Validate the quality of the work

BC04 - Knowledge of the company

• Manage the equipment required for work
• Plan and manage work
• Interact with internal and external professionals

BC05 - Measurement and analysis

• Carry out measurements, tests
• Collecting technical data

The BTS Maintenance des véhicules option B véhicules de transport routier is open to anyone with a baccalauréat: bac professionnel de la maintenance et de la réparation, bac STI2D. Access is based on a portfolio, tests and/or interview.

• Careers: Holders of the BTS in vehicle maintenance work in companies in manufacturers' after-sales networks, brand dealerships, independent companies or networks, vehicle fleet maintenance departments (large companies or the State), manufacturers' after-sales methods departments.

  Workshop receptionist, service advisor, team or unit manager, diagnostic technician, manufacturer's technical advisor are the most common professions and functions in after-sales departments.

  
  
• Course continuation: The BTS vehicle maintenance is a qualifying diploma that does not necessarily require further study. Nevertheless, there are several avenues to pursue: training, management, expertise, teaching.

  The vocational licences available (bac+3) are in the mechanical engineering sector (engineering sciences, industrial techniques pathway, electronic equipment) and bodywork (technology, maintenance of multi-technology systems). A technical-commercial orientation may also be considered.

  
  
Parcours Réussite :
•  Lucas M., Lucas M., who has a scientific baccalaureate, wanted to go into the automotive sector with a particular interest in trucks. After two years of work experience on a vocational training certificate in vehicle maintenance, with the option of road transport vehicles, he went on to gain a professional licence. Currently in charge of an Iveco branch, he regularly returns to GRETA CFA to recruit his new employees.
