BTS Building envelope: design and construction

The building envelope is the physical interface separating the interior of a building from its external environment. Through the quality of its design and the highly technical nature of its conception, the building envelope reflects the creativity and innovation of modern or traditional architecture, while providing numerous technical functions.

At the end of the courses, the holder of the BTS Building Envelope is able to:

BC01 - Analyse envelopes

Manually represent all or part of an envelope system

Analyse information, a context, a result
Define the assumptions of the study and calculation
Propose a model of all or part of the envelope
Manually produce a pre-sizing calculation note, sizing
Check a result or a calculation note in relation to a context, a requirement
Validate a technical solution

BC02 - Design envelopes

Develop an oral communication strategy
Read and decode
Produce, using digital tools, representations of all or part of an envelope system
Organise, plan and run a meeting
Propose one or more technical solutions to meet expectations
Compare several solutions
Perform a pre-sizing or sizing calculation note with digital assistance
Prepare a summary note, the estimate and cost variants

BC03 - Prepare and carry out economic site monitoring

Participate in the work of a team
Organise the tasks of team members
Transmit instructions
Supervise the progress of a team
Integrate a manual calculation note into a digital tool (spreadsheet...) with a view to automating it
Draw up or complete all or part of the execution file for a technical solution
Draw up the budget for the operation
Monitor the site economically
Close the site economically
Evaluate and prevent occupational risks
Draw up the execution method file
Define the allocation of human and material resources, and adapt them to site contingencies

BC04 - Conduct projects in a professional environment;

Express yourself and argue with precision in writing

BC05 - Implant a work and control

Implanting a structure of varying complexity

General teaching covers : General culture and expression, English,Mathematics,Physics, Chemistry

Maximum total duration of 3,650 hours, including 2,300 hours in a company and 1,350 hours at the training centre.
The duration of the course is indicative and will be determined according to your profile.

Technological, general or vocational baccalaureate in the building sector (Bac STI2D preferred) or proof of a level IV and/or 2 years' professional experience.

The holder of the BTS Building envelope: design and construction can participate in price studies, be in charge of a technical-commercial mission, industrial manufacturing manager, or responsible for site management. They can also work as design technicians in technical design and methods offices.

The senior building envelope technician can be employed in a construction or renovation company, in a design or engineering office, in an insurance firm... but also with a manufacturer or merchant of materials, equipment and materials.
