BTS International Commerce - From the start of the 2026 academic year

To acquire the qualifications required to work in all sectors of the economy, which may vary according to the type and size of the business, the nature of the services provided and the level of international development.

Upon completion of the BTS CI programme, graduates will be able to manage and develop commercial operations in overseas markets:

• Explore foreign markets
• Implement commercial strategies,
• Establish contact and negotiate with partners,
• Manage and implement initiatives and carry out on-the-ground monitoring.  

They act as the point of contact with customers and suppliers, from quotation to payment and the administrative management of export orders and overseas purchases. They contribute to the management of payment and transport risks.

All of these duties are carried out in a multilingual, digital and intercultural context. As such, the successful candidate must demonstrate adaptability and strong communication skills – both written and oral – in French, English and another language. 

The course is organised into several skill modules, allowing for step-by-step progression. It alternates between theoretical input, practical application and assessment sessions to promote practical and progressive learning.

• Organising, monitoring and tracking the fulfilment of an international contract

• Monitoring and tracking processes and the document chain
• Evaluate service provision and supplier quotations
• Propose ways to improve operations management
• Design and analyse dashboards for monitoring operations management

BC03 - Contribute to international business development

• Monitor the company’s global environment
• Analyse and summarise information on a target market
• Identify and assess strategies for entering a target market
• Contribute to adaptation strategies linked to the company’s international development
• Participate in business development

General education: 

• General knowledge and communication
• Modern language 2, CEFR level B1
• Economic, legal and managerial knowledge

Maximum total duration of 3214 hours, including 1864 hours on the job and 1350 hours at the training centre.

Assessments are organised throughout the course and at the end of the programme, in accordance with the qualification framework. Certification assessments may take the form of in-course assessments (CCF) and/or final examinations.

Support with exam preparation is provided throughout the course to help candidates succeed.

This qualification is awarded following validation by the academic examination board.

If a candidate fails to obtain the qualification, they retain the credits for the modules they have passed and may retake the outstanding examinations at a later date. The modules passed remain valid for 5 years.

The holder of the International Trade BTS carries out their activities within industrial, commercial or service companies, mainly SMEs. These companies cater for both private and professional customers.

Access to the following professions:

• import-export assistant
• export ADV (Sales Administration) assistant
• import assistant
• import-export manager
• transit agent/operations agent (air, sea, import or export)
• registered customs representative assistant
• customs referral assistant, - international trade assistant.

Continuation of studies towards professional bachelor's degrees: International Commerce, Logistics and International Transport, bachelor's degree (L3 in economics and management, management sciences or AES), specialised school or business and management college via parallel admissions.
