Acquire the professional skills needed to become an activity leader capable of:

• Independently designing, leading and supervising physical and sporting activities for a variety of groups
• Understanding and being involved in the running of professional organisations: associations, sports clubs, etc.
• Contribute to introducing, raising awareness of and providing safe, introductory sessions for a diverse range of physical and sporting activities for all groups, as well as promoting citizenship and respect for the environment.

Upon completion of the training, the candidate will be able to carry out the following activities:

• Gathering information to assess the organisation’s environment, the needs of the target groups and the funding/resources available in the field of sport or leisure activities
• Proposing projects within the organisation’s framework that meet the evolving needs of the target groups
• Organising, implementation and supervision of a project within the organisation’s framework in the field of sport or leisure activities
• Evaluating the project in the field of sport or leisure activities and sharing information within the organisation regarding the participants
• Informing and engaging participants and their families and friends in the context of activities organised by an organisation operating in the field of sport or leisure activities
• Implementing promotional and awareness-raising initiatives aimed at participants to highlight activities in the field of sport or leisure activities
• Designing sessions and series of sessions for discovering, trying out and learning physical and sporting activities
• Preparing sessions for discovering, trying out and learning physical and sporting activities
• Delivering introductory, beginner and learning sessions for physical and sporting activities
• Evaluating introductory, beginner and learning sessions and series of sessions for physical and sporting activities

The course is organised into several skill modules, allowing for step-by-step progression. It alternates between theoretical input, practical application and assessment sessions in order to promote practical and progressive learning.

BC01 – Designing and implementing activity programmes within the framework of a sports or leisure organisation’s operational structure

BC02 - Promote the activities and projects of an organisation in the field of sport or youth work

BC03 - Design, safely lead and evaluate sessions and series of sessions for the discovery, introduction and learning of physical or sporting activities within the framework of the organisation’s project and work structure

The course is structured around physical activities and fundamental knowledge

Physical activities :

• knowledge of all participant groups (from children to older adults), including those with disabilities
• leading and facilitating sessions in the areas of recreational activities, fitness training and outdoor activities

Fundamental knowledge : Teaching methods; Characteristics of different groups; Anatomy, physiology, biomechanics; Psychology, sociology, group management; Regulations, safety; Knowledge of professional organisations

Throughout the course, learners receive personalised support with regular monitoring by the teaching team and progress reviews to tailor the learning to each individual’s needs.

The work placement also enables students to develop their professional skills in a real-world setting.

Skills are assessed progressively through role-plays, practical exercises, professional projects and assessments carried out throughout the course.

Our teaching methodology prioritises a practical, work-focused approach: case studies, role-plays, practical scenarios and collaborative activities enable learning in conditions that closely resemble the real-world workplace.

Be 18 years of age on the day of the plenary certification panel

At the time of selection pass the entry sports tests (TEP) with GRETA-CFA, or have already passed them with another organisation (tests with national validity, obligation of the certifier)

Present a recent medical certificate specifying the ability to do sport and supervise a public in sports activities.

This course consists of certified skill modules, which can be undertaken and validated separately.

The certification assessments are based on written assignments, oral examinations before a panel, and practical sports scenarios assessed by, amongst others, professional panels recognised by the certifying ministry: DRAJES

The strengths of the establishment:

Most of the lecturers have been working for GRETA for many years on this course, but they are also professionals in sports activities with all types of public. Some of them work in specialised facilities for people with disabilities.

Former GRETA trainees, who have been taken on in professional structures, become "company tutors" for our new trainees, knowing the quality of our training.

Total pass rate: 77.5% out of 28 people sitting the exam

Partial pass rate: 21.73% out of 28 people sitting the exam

Integration rate into the intended profession: 52.17%

Overall integration rate into employment: 56.43%

Tempture rate: 0% (apprenticeship)

Interruption rate during training (all groups): 17.64%

Study continuation rate: 27%

Recommendation rate: 67%, but 33% of trainees gave a mark of 7 or 8 on a scale of 0 to 10, which brings the recommendation percentage down sharply. A mark of 7 or 8 on a scale of 0 to 10 is still very honourable!
