BAC PRO for children and the elderly

This diploma trains generalist activity leaders capable of designing and carrying out a variety of activities, particularly with young people and the elderly who are losing their independence. In the course of their work, activity leaders implement the activity approach. The sectors of intervention selected are:

• the socio-cultural and socio-educational sector
• the social animation sector

The training course is organised into several skill modules, enabling step-by-step progression. It alternates between theoretical input, practical application and assessment sessions in order to promote practical and progressive learning.

Skills Block 01 – Contributing to the running of the organisation or department by implementing an activity programme

Taking into account the context of practice and the organisation’s project

Identify the characteristics and expectations of people experiencing a loss of independence

BC03-Activities aimed at personal fulfilment, socialisation and the exercise of citizens’ rights

Supervising service users throughout their time at the facility

BC04 – Health and environmental prevention

Conducting a situational analysis using a problem-solving approach
Analysing a professional situation using different approaches: risk-based, work-based and accident-based analysis
Draw on scientific, legal and economic knowledge
Propose and justify appropriate preventative measures
Propose actions to respond effectively to an emergency situation

Education Nationale certified teachers, Bac +3 trainers with significant experience in adult education, professional lecturers.

Assessments are organised throughout the course and at the end of the programme, in accordance with the qualification framework. Certification assessments may take the form of in-course assessments (CCF) and/or final examinations.

Support with exam preparation is provided throughout the course to help candidates succeed.

This qualification is awarded following validation by the academic examination board.

If a candidate fails to obtain the qualification, they retain the credits for the modules they have passed and may retake the outstanding examinations at a later date. The modules passed remain valid for 5 years.

These apprenticeship contract places are integrated into a class that comes under initial training (made up of pupils with school status) and are subject to enrolment at the lycée.

The training is accessible as an apprenticeship from the second year of the diploma and after at least a first year as a pupil at the school.
